Townships and Cape flats
The Townships and Cape flats were built to accommodate the people that were forcibly removed from the city and relocated to the Cape flats the first people to be removed were African in 1901 and were accommodated in the area of Ndabeni. Few homes were built but with no proper sanitation. Here you will have the opportunity to meet different people from all backgrounds. These areas are known for the solidarity that still exists from the days of apartheid. What we call Ubuntu is the spirit of togetherness. Children in the school in the informal settlement will entertain you. We will go beyond the tourist attractions to show how the people and government of South Africa are dealing with the issues facing the country and its people, the people of South Africa.
After this wonderful tour of these communities, you have the option of having lunch in one of these communities or lunch in the V.A. Waterfront before the boat to Robben Island. Robben Island is where most of our political leaders had spent most of their life behind bars. Here you have the chance to visit the cell of our former South African president cell Dr. Nelson Mandela
